I am having so much fun working on my client’s blogs and being a part of their business team. I have been fortunate to work with some fabulous and extremely interesting people. Sometimes it keeps me so busy that I find myself putting my own blogs on the back burner. However, one of the main points of having a blog is to develop a business that will sustain you even if you are unable to work on your primary business, or you decide to take off to Paris for an extended period of time simply to have fun.
The reality is that blogging is not for everyone.
Some people do not have the focus and discipline it takes to build a business using a blog, or they do not know the right questions to ask themselves about why and how to make it work for them.
Obviously, I always get excited when my clients post articles on a regular basis such as:
Nancy offers great recipes with a wonderful sense of humor. Even though this is a new blog, she has already attracted great traffic.
Another effective use of a blog is for those who are actively doing speaking engagements and online tele-seminars. Valerie uses her blog as a destination for the traffic her outside activities generate. This leads to the sales of products and services. Take a look at:
Valerie is a sought after speaker and transformational business/happiness coach.
Launching a new and even controversial product is a perfect reason to use a blog as well. Check out:
Monique is a prolific blogger with several blog sites dealing with various subjects connected with real estate.
She is garnering the attention of high end publications and business people. One of her blogs has over 600 posts.
Another fun use of a blog is as an online store. Looking for some unusual and exotic women’s clothing items? Take a peek at Jim’s store:
We used a WordPress plugin called ECWID that instantly creates a store online. You are able to manipulate the store using a 3rd party cloud based control panel. This saves uploading multiple images or files on your own server.
Having an established and very successful business is only enhanced by using a blog rather than a static site.
Lisa offers outstanding media training and tips for PR.
Make sure to get on her mailing list. Her posts and events truly rock and are essential for entrepreneurs!
The sad fact is that many people have intentions of making their blog work, but life gets in the way, and then the blog sits there in cyberspace looking lonely.
I have written a short special report called:
